Quackers and Kin
These guys and gals have grown a lot since Easter! I walk to the end of the runway nearly every day and invite them for a meal. They answer enthusiastically when they hear me call; we have a nice stroll/waddle back to the house to visit the snack bar.
On another topic…I am pleased to announce the arrival of my nephew- Elijah Clayton! He was born around 7:00 this morning and he and his mama are doing fine. I am afraid I may have to wait until the little fellow is nearly a month old until I get to see him. L If you are someone who knows my family personally-this is Ruthie’s baby to which I am referring.

wow...such loud noises they make...haha..!! also, congrats on another nephew
!!!! would love to see a pic of him if you get any. and, hope y'all are enjoying teddy huffam and the gems!
Sheila what an interesting post. You walk so poised and eloquent compared to the waddling ducks. Have you named them?
So glad to hear Ruthie and baby are doing well. Was her baby early? Congratulations on being Auntie again!
I very much enjoyed your video. So nice seeing you. Those ducks have indeed really changed since Easter. Congratulations on the birth of your nephew.
@ssoma71 - I'll share some pics w/ you as soon as I get some...I'm jammin' to the Gems right now. Just missin' my 'lil dance partner.
@mrs_andeThank you! - @lovetocook2 - Thanks! Yes, he was a little early-due date was 7/7. He was on oxygen for a little but is doing fine on his own now. He is also on IV antibiotics as a precautionary measure b/c Ruthie hadn't had her Strep B test yet. He was 5# 12 oz and 18 1/2".
@PollythePatchworker - haha-thanks! I actually didn't know I was being videoed or else I probably would have been nervous and fallen on my face. They don't have names 'cause we can't tell them apart. We aren't even sure at this point which are males and females.
@Lucy_or_Ethel - I'm glad you liked it! The ducks are soo much fun! When I wanted to get some Joel informed me that I was to be soley responsible for them if I was going to have them...well...he messes with them almost more than I do!
We are anxious to see Elijah too!!! We went into the hospital last night, but weren't able to see him because he was still in the "sick room" as Ruthie calls it. Isn't it great being an Aunt again!!! :)
congrats auntie!!
Ohmygoodness...that's the sweetest video!
Thanks for the update on the baby...congrats Auntie Sheila!
Congratulations! :) The quackers are looking good! lol
I so much enjoyed watching you stroll with the ducks. They surely are bigger than ours. And probably a little more tame with all the attention they get. ... I hope you can get to see that sweet little nephew soon. I'm sure you will enjoy him.
@twty05 - Yes it is! I was thinking about Brooke and all those boy cousins...I'm sure she can hold her own though.
@coffeebuddy - @BigToePeople - Thank you! ...now if I just had a majic carpet headin' to VA...
@BigToePeople - I'll tell Joel you liked it. He was getting a little put out that the baby news was getting more attention than his video.
@guestbrief - Thanks! Weren't you telling me about your Grandma once having a pet duck? When we got the first one and he was very small we were wondering if it was possible to house train them...lol I could see some potential in the pest control department as he was gobbling up anything he saw crawling and I was having a spider invasion.
@MeNyouandadognamedWilma - It was my Mom's pet, but I'm sure my Grandma had a lot to do to take care of it! lol I don't know how it was in the house, but it harrassed the life out of the little family dog! 8o
That was a cute video clip. I love ducks!:) I was thinkin yesterday, I'd like to walk down there and see them. But, then I didn't get it done. For some reason I didn't get this update via email. That's why I'm just now commenting. :)
This is slightly overdue, since the ducks are probably even more grownup by now, but I just finally found time to check out all my xanga friends and found your too-cute video. With my hit-and-miss connection, I don't have good streaming video but I watched it in starts and stops....love the way those ducks waddle. Does Wilma help take care of them? Your place looks very pretty and well-kept. Hope you're having a good summer and have gotten to see your precious new nephew by now.
